So we've got these neighbors in Pueblo that are ex-mormons. I guess since they used to live in Utah and grew up mormon like me they feel a certain "kinship" with me. Anywho, they've decided that they just have to take me to dinner before I leave. I've dodged them for 5 weeks but the guy cornered me today as I was leaving my house and invited me to dinner tonight. I didn't have the heart (or balls) to tell him no so we're going to Applebees at 6pm (Hooray, Applebees is so fucking good !!!!). It's 6:30 now and I've been over to their house and rang the doorbell and knocked and no answer. I don't really want to go anyway but now I'm getting stood up. Just as well, the neighbors are different than all the ex-mormons I know in Utah cause now they've found god at some other church. How fucking exciting is that? Nothing worse than dinner with a couple of religious freaks that think they've found what you're looking for.
FYI, what I'm looking for is an understanding that other's religious beliefs are not mine, I think the saying "don't care what you don't do" sums it up nicely. well, that and good old Karl Marx when he said "religion is the opiate of the masses". I'm also quite fond of "god didn't create man, man created god". Seriously, if you need the crutch then by all means use it but don't expect me to need it.
